Suntec Oil Pump Model Guide: AS, AN, AJ, D and E Series Explained

Suntec AS, AN, AJ, D and E oil pump model guide

Suntec manufactures several oil-pump families for domestic, commercial and industrial burner applications. The different series are designed for particular capacities, fuels, temperatures and cut-off arrangements.

Model selection must begin with the complete reference on the existing pump. Products from different Suntec families should not be treated as interchangeable merely because their mounting or external dimensions appear similar.

Suntec AS-Series Pumps

The Suntec AS pump uses an integral normally open solenoid valve to control the regulator cut-off valve. This provides rapid cut-on and cut-off independently of pump speed.

The AS series is commonly associated with domestic oil, kerosene and compatible biofuel applications within the manufacturer’s limits.

Examples include:

  • Suntec AS47A 15366P0500

  • Suntec AS47C 15386P0500

For many AS models, A indicates clockwise rotation with a right-hand nozzle when viewed from the shaft end. C indicates anticlockwise rotation with a left-hand nozzle.

Suntec AN-Series Pumps

The Suntec AN is a basic oil-pump design incorporating pressure regulation and mechanical cut-off.

Depending on the exact model, it can support domestic oil, kerosene, HVO and specified biofuel blends. The AN series includes different gear capacities and pressure ranges.

Examples include:

  • Suntec AN77A 7346-2

  • Suntec AN77C 7341-2X

Legacy product codes should be checked against the physical nameplate before adding current catalogue references as equivalents.

Suntec AJ-Series Pumps

Suntec AJ pumps address medium-capacity applications and incorporate pressure regulation. Standard 1000 models provide cut-off, while certain bypass-nozzle versions require external cut-off.

The Suntec AJ6AC10004P uses an A rotation/nozzle configuration and a C pressure-range code.

The complete designation must be checked because changes in the rotation, pressure or model-number section affect suitability.

Suntec D-Series Pumps

The D series is designed for demanding applications involving light, medium or heavy oil. It can operate with viscosity up to 75 cSt and elevated pump temperatures within the specified limits.

The D pump does not provide integral cut-off. Where cut-off is required, an external in-line solenoid valve must be used.

Examples include:

  • Suntec D57A 73543P

  • Suntec D57C 73723P

D57A and D57C have different rotation and nozzle configurations and should not be interchanged without verification.

Suntec E-Series Pumps

The Suntec E series is intended for heavy-oil applications and incorporates a cavity for an electric preheater. This can assist with cold starting by warming the oil inside the pump.

Certain E models, including 1069 configurations, do not provide integral cut-off and require an external solenoid valve.

The listed Suntec E7NC10697P should be verified carefully because this exact reference differs from the closest current catalogue listing.
